Day 25 - Inspired by Fashion
More cheating, yes, we like that. Few weeks ago, my sister asked me to make some nails to match her skirt, I did, and forgot to upload the picture. Day 25 is fashion, skirts are fashion, add my laziness into the mix and you get this. I can’t find the actual skirt now, but details, details.
“Let’s Make A Sandwich” Telephone Part One: Gaga made the premiere of her nine minute mini film into a “pop culture event”, turning the video for the uncharacteristically generic bubblegum, “in da club” track into a Tarantino-style pop culture commentary, packed full of dry humor and product placement.
This scene remains one of my favorite among all of Gaga’s videos, and I’ve been toying with how to form a cohesive design for it, practically since the video came out. This video is so colorful that I wanted to incorporate that without mucking it up, while still representing the scene. It finally occurred to me: Wonder Bread spots!
Colors & Materials Used: Purple Panic magenta (China Glaze), Blue Me Away! (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear), Lightening yellow (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri), For Audrey turquoise (China Glaze), and Spontaneous purple (China Glaze). Spots and skull were free-handed in layers, using toothpicks.
Happy birthday, Telephone! Gaga’s nine minute film for the song will have premiered two years ago as of tomorrow. What better time for some Telephone nail designs? Part two will be posted next week!
